Job Description

Are you a Teaching Assistant or a Behaviour Mentor who is looking for a new role in Salford/ManchesterI am currently recruiting for a confident Behaviour Mentor or Teaching Assistant to work within the SEN department of a secondary school in the Salford area for a full-time role beginning immediately.The role is offered initially on a temporary basis paying up to £85 per day and may become a permanent appointment for the right candidate.The RoleBehaviour Mentors will help with supporting teaching and learning in the SEN support unit of a secondary school specialising in supporting children who may struggle with social and emotional mental health.Five days a week - 8.10am to 3.50pmThe role will be based in the schools unit for students with EHCPsStudents will often need additional support to access the curriculum, and this requires a strong amount of patience and understanding.The Unit is to provide a safe learning environment where students can learn with support and develop independent study skills.The TA will be

  • Supporting students on a 1 to1 basis or in small groups.
  • Supporting young people with literacy and numeracy and general subject knowledge
  • Supporting young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Supporting young people with mental health needs and anxiety
  • Work collaboratively with other member of the SEN team, senior leaders, heads of departments, parents and carers, social workers and other members of the childs multidisciplinary team.

  • Have a minimum of six weeks experience of working with children aged 11 to 16 supported by references OR be a recent graduate with an interest in getting into teaching.
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with 10 years of employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK
  • Bachelors degree or teaching assistant qualifications
