Job Description

A large IT business in Central Sheffield are looking for a Financial Accountant.This role is working for a fast-paced rapidly growing private equity backed group.This would be a great role for a first or second time mover from practice, or anyone with a solid background in compliance and governance, looking to join an ambitious and energetic team based in Sheffield.Reporting to the Group Finance Manager you will manage a large portfolio of entities, where you will need solid technical accounting knowledge alongside excellent project management skills in order to keep all engagements on track and all stakeholders upto date.

  • Manage the external reporting requirements for a portfolio of UK and European entities, responsible for building relationships with external parties and co-ordinating the timetable of audit and accounts-prep engagements.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations to support the conversion of US GAAP management account TBs to locally-compliant TBs
  • Co-ordinate efforts from other teams including the management accounting teams, FP&A, Legal, Tax and the operational business in order to deliver quality information to external partners
  • Proactively identify opportunities for procedural improvements to improve efficiency and quality, and work to implement these to position the business for growth
  • Assist with the onboarding of regular new acquisitions, understanding the mapping of legacy local results into the systems, and planning for a successful transition
You will be
  • ACA/ACCA Qualified with a technical background
  • A disciplined self starter with a ‘can do’ attitude who is able to work within a matrix organization, with a high level of commitment and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • A critical eye for accuracy, data integrity, process issues and improvements.
  • Excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyse large and complex data sets in order to summarise in a simple, effective way.
