Job Description

Robert Half is currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a growing international business based in Solihull. This opportunity has come around due to a internal promotion.

Duties:
  • Responsible for delivery of accurate, relevant and timely management information and analysis in both local currency and USD to the US parent company.
  • Perform Treasury function including cash analysis, equity and debt analysis.
  • Preparation of tax calculations.
  • Preparation and review of clear, concise and focused analytical reviews including monthly expense analysis, trends and forecasting. Challenging reported variances to ensure robust information is supplied. Discussion of findings with local teams / field/budget owners and International Reporting.
  • Co-ordinate with teams to ensure Financial Statutory Reporting is approved and filed on time.
  • Provide detailed review of the Statutory accounts and notes to ensure accurate and complete.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of PeopleSoft processes to ensure no delays for the local offices throughout the month, at month end timely completion of system checks and processes.
  • Work effectively with other departments to ensure continuous monitoring of provisions/risk reserves.
  • Maintenance of fixed asset ledger with production of depreciation & fixed asset journals in a timely manner in line with company policies.
  • Monthly analysis of lease accounting for both local and US GAAP.
  • Production of quarterly balance sheet and profit & loss reconciliations & analysis of variances for individual entities.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with local finance teams in order to understand the causes of variances, have the ability to question the integrity of the data and answers provided.
  • Continuous evaluation of current processes. Working with others across various functions and locations to proactively design, develop and implement "model" processes to improve business performance.
  • Work with Corporate Accounting Manager to ensure that an effective system of internal control is in place that gives sufficient assurance of the financial results and reduce business risk.
  • Ensure all work undertaken is in compliance with the relevant Sarbanes-Oxley process maps.
Profile:
  • Finalist/Newly Qualified Accountant
  • Firm understanding of accounting concepts and be able to understand individual requirements for financial information and handle confidential information.
  • Proficient Excel and Word skills
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels across the business.
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast-moving environment with good attention to detail and be flexible in adapting to the many changes that occur in the business.
  • Able to effectively manage their time, working with minimal supervision and dealing with conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.
  • A motivated self-starter who has the confidence to take on responsibility in order to develop the role further
