Job Description

Pay: Kent Range3 Start Date: April 2021 We are a large inclusive primaryschool with over 800 pupils and require a Teaching Assistant to join our team.We are seeking to permanently appoint a skilled and enthusiastic individual tosupport pupils within a mainstream classroom with all aspects of theireducation. The successful candidate will havea wide range of skills to support children with their communication andinteraction, SEMH, cognition and learning, sensory or physical needs. They willalso have a genuine desire to ensure the children they support reach their fullpotential and have a safe, welcoming and positive experience in the classroom.Previous experience of workingwith school-age children would be advantageous but we are also open toapplications from graduates who may be considering a career in teaching andwish to gain experience in a school environment. The post is for 30 hours per week(6 hours a day, Monday to Friday including a 30 minute daily lunchtimesupervision session). The pay scale is Kent Range 3 at £18,039 per annum for afull-time position, which equates to approximately £12,257 per annum pro ratafor this role. The post holder is required to work for 38 weeks per year (termtime only). In addition, the post holder will receive a payment in respect oftheir pro rata entitlement to Annual Leave appropriate to their grade, BankHolidays and the KCC concessionary day. We require a good standard ofgeneral education and GCSE qualifications or equivalent in English andMathematics at Grade C or above. Verification of qualifications will berequired before employment can commence so please do not declare anyqualifications unless you can produce the original certificate. A formal interview will take placewith a panel comprising of members of the Senior Leadership Team and will lastapproximately thirty minutes. Candidates will also undertake a thirty-minuteEnglish and Maths test.
