This Outstanding school is in the Top 1% for progress, however, they are alsopraised for the pastoral support that they offer all of their students. The SENCO is looking for people with a genuine interest in SEN & Mental Health who can work closely with students in KS3, KS4 and KS5 to support them both academically and pastorally.You will be supporting students with mild SEN & Mental Health needs, all of which will have personalised plans in place for you to follow. Your role will involve building a strong rapport with the students, supporting them in the classroom as well as inthe SEN Learning zone, working with them to improve their academic ability, confidence, communication skills and more.You will be completing out-of-class interventions as well as in-class support alongside a class teacher for KS3 & KS4 students. Additionally, you will have fortnightly 1:1 sessions with KS5 students in Years 12 & 13. This is a very rewarding role that willallow you to not only gain hands-on experience with SEN & Mental Health but also the chance to shadow occupational therapists, psychologists and many more professionals.
