Teaching Assistant - SEN & Mental HealthQ - Are you a caring and passionate graduate looking to gain a full academic year of hands-on experience supporting students with SEN & Mental Health NeedsThen this Teaching Assistant - SEN & Mental Health role is perfect for you!EdEx are working closely with a High-achieving Secondary school in Wandsworth who are looking for bright, enthusiastic graduates to join them as Teaching Assistants in September. This Outstanding school is in the Top 1% for progress, however, they are alsopraised for the pastoral support that they offer all of their students. The SENCO is looking for people with a genuine interest in SEN & Mental Health who can work closely with students in KS3, KS4 and KS5 to support them both academically and pastorally.You will be supporting students with mild SEN & Mental Health needs, all of which will have personalised plans in place for you to follow. Your role will involve building a strong rapport with the students, supporting them in the classroom as well as inthe SEN Learning zone, working with them to improve their academic ability, confidence, communication skills and more.You will be completing out-of-class interventions as well as in-class support alongside a class teacher for KS3 & KS4 students. Additionally, you will have fortnightly 1:1 sessions with KS5 students in Years 12 & 13. This is a very rewarding role that willallow you to not only gain hands-on experience with SEN & Mental Health but also the chance to shadow occupational therapists, psychologists and many more professionals.   • Teaching Assistant - SEN & Mental Health focus
  • Working with KS3 - KS5 students
  • Full Time - Long Term (Term time only)
  • Monday to Friday 8:30-4 pm
  • £105-£115 per day
  • September 2024 start (for full academic year)
  • Located in Wandsworth
  • In-class support and out-of-class interventions focussing on students mental health
  • Supporting students of all abilities including those with SEN
  • Using creative and imaginative ways to always engage the students
  • To support students 1:1 or in small groups
Candidate Specification - Teaching Assistant - SEN & Mental Health:
  • Bright graduate with a 1st Class or 2:1 Degree
  • Strong passion for working with students on their academic and mental health
  • Needs Enthusiasm to be able to inspire the children with learning
  • Must be confident within your ability and knowledge of both the GCSE & A Level curriculum
