Job Description

Teaching Assistant for Year 1 Pupil with Learning and Emotional NeedsPosition: Teaching AssistantLocation: Small village school in rural setting between Tiverton and CreditonStart Date: September 4th, 2024Working Hours: 8:30 am to 3:15 pm, Monday to FridayPay: £88 to £90 per day, paid weeklyContract Duration: Long-term basis until at least Easter 2025 half term with the opportunity to become a permanent team member.Timeplan Education are working with a primary school, located in a picturesque rural setting between Tiverton and Crediton, who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide support to a Year 1 pupil with learning and emotional needs.The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the childs academic progress and emotional well-being.Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one support to a Year 1 pupil with additional learning needs, including academic and emotional support.
Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to develop and implement individualised learning plans.
Adapt and modify teaching materials and resources to meet the specific needs of the pupil.
Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for the pupil, encouraging their participation and engagement in class activities.
Monitor and track the pupils progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
Assist with classroom management, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
Collaborate with other teaching assistants and school staff to promote a holistic approach to the pupils development.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with young children with additional learning needs is essential.
A patient and nurturing approach, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with the pupil.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents.
A car driver, as the school is in a rural setting with limited public transportation options.
