Job Description

Location: Waltham Cross, HertsSalary: up to £28,000 (Dependant of Experience)Shift: Any 5 out of 7 days, 40 hours per weekHours: 11a-8p (includes a 30-minute unpaid break).An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Auditor to join team our technical team in Waltham Cross. Reporting to the Head of Technical, the Quality Auditor will quality assess food products against internal specifications, making recommendations andsupporting the wider team in finding solutions. Monitoring and auditing of the QMS system in the manufacturing sites.Established in 1945, Reynolds Catering Supplies is one of the leading fresh fruit & vegetable suppliers to the foodservice industry and the only remaining national family-run greengrocer in the UK.Accountabilities:

  • To diligently assess the quality, safety, and legality of products against agreed specifications and processes – quality assessments must be accurate and logically categorised.
  • Working effectively as part of a wider Warehouse team achieving task and time goals.
  • Diligently report and classify all “assessments” using handheld devices.
  • Communicating efficiently with wider team members on shift and those working “days”.
  • Work efficiently and effectively adapting your daily routine to meet the operational requirements of the business.
  • Responsible for audit of QMS records in the manufacturing units.
  • Responsible for audit of Goods-In records and approved supplier updates in the manufacturing units.
  • Responsible for internal audits in the manufacturing units.
  • Responsible for maintaining the traceability of all fish products (chilled, frozen, frozen in-house and filleting room) and sausage products.
  • Assisting with preparations to achieve compliance for BRC audits and preparation for 2nd party audits.
  • Assist in Histamine testing.
  • Providing support to other technical / quality departmental functions as reasonably requested.
To be successful in your application for the role, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience.
  • Would ideally have exposure to Fresh Produce Quality Assessment/checking products against a specification.
  • Ideally have BRC and Internal auditing experience
  • Knowledge of fresh produce quality attributes (or broader food quality attributes).
  • Capable of working in a time precious environment and at pace.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and functions.
  • Understanding and awareness of food legislation, food quality management systems, 3rd party accreditation standards, HACCP and food labelling.
  • Good communicator across all levels, formal and informal.
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures on site.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Flexible approach with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
