Black Country Womens AidLet us introduce ourselves…Black Country Womens Aid (BCWA) is an established charity working across the Black Country and wider West Midlands providing accommodation and community support services to victims of domestic abuse, sexual abuse and human trafficking. Services range fromadvocacy, civil remedies, support in court, individual and group support and access to a range of therapeutic interventions. All services are client and needs-led.The Therapeutic and Wellbeing Services:Our Therapeutic and Wellbeing Services consists of an experienced team of counsellors and associates providing a range of modalities to counsel all genders of domestic and sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse. Counselling is provided both face-to-faceand online and up to 12 sessions are provided. The service manages a waiting list as demand can be high. Wellbeing services is a further offer that builds on a victims confidence and assists to building a state of being healthy, happy, and comfortable, bothphysically and mentally.This service strives to instil trust and confidence recognizing that we can never change what has happened, we can help to shape a positive future.Job RoleJob Title: Adult CounsellorPositions available: 15 hours (2 days per week) weekdays. Salary: £30,322.50 (FTE), £12,129 (pro rata)Closing date: 26 July 2024Interview date: Provisionally week commencing 12 August 2024BCWA reserve the right to close this advertisement early if sufficient applications are receivedAll interviews will be held via Microsoft TeamsIs this youWe are looking for a qualified and experienced counsellor who has experience of working therapeutically with adults who have experienced trauma. You will carry a caseload which includes all aspects of case management including risk assessment, managing appointments,and all aspects of case administration.The Role:The position is located within a busy Therapeutic and Wellbeing Service and you will work closely with colleagues across the organisation. The counsellor will provide time-limited, specialist trauma-informed counselling to both male and female adult victimsover the age of 18yrs identified by defined referred routes through the support services - domestic abuse, rape and sexual violence, exploitation and partner pathways such as the West Midlands Adult Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC).
