Job Description

Quantity Surveyor - CivilsLocation: WokinghamSalary: £45,000 - £70,000Hunter Mason’s ClientHunter Mason’s client has extensive years of experience in the construction and civil engineering industry. Our client has now identified the need for a quantity surveyor who has experience across a variety of sectors such as Civils, Water, Highways, Rail,Defence and Utilities to join their expanding team.Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting cost estimates, budget preparation, and cost control for assigned projects.
  • Managing and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Conducting risk assessments and value engineering to optimize project costs.
  • Collaborating with project managers to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Regularly updating project financial reports and providing insights to stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically in a Project Quantity Surveyor role.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes and industry best practices.
  • Strong background in the Civils, Water, Highways, Rail, Defence and Utilities sector.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Relevant professional qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Experience with EV projects would be desirable but not essential.
